Ok, so there's 3 parts of the spreadsheet that are independant of each other: The roles part, staff attributes, and everything else.
When you started out with an empty spreadsheet, you might notice everything's set to 1 except for all the totals and all the "points left". For the Roles part and the staff attributes part, the Totals don't change regardless of what you fill elsewhere.
So pretty much your job is to fill out everything that isn't in a highlighted box with values you want until those numbers add up to whatever the Total for that section it, or so the "Points left" becomes zero. For example, your Offensive role and defensive role have to add to 28, at which point your points left becomes zero.
Next part's a little tricky. You have to start out by filling out the "Stats" part before flling out the stuff after staff attributes, because whatever values you fill there determines what your point totals are for the other sections. For example, start with all your stats at 1. Scroll down and see that your "Offensive Total" is 3. Now, type 10 in the offensive ability box. Scroll down and notice that your "Offensive Total" is now 28.
So for the second half of the spreadsheet, just fill out the stats section and allocate your points like you did for the Staff attributes and the roles section. Notice that some attributes give you less points to allocate. For example, if you type 10 in the defensive ability box, you can see that your "Defensive total" only becomes 18. This means that some players will seem like they have higher attributes than others, but in reality all players will have equal chance at success.
