If you're unhappy with how your player is being treated, want to play on a contender, or simply want to move away from wherever you are, you may request a trade in the "Transfer Requests" board. However, you will not have the opportunity to choose any team in the NHL to go to.
Post your trade requests in the following format:
----------------------------------------
Buster Bluth Transfer Requests
Request: Move to a different NHL team
Priorities:
1) Role
2) Complimentary Player (center)
3) Market Size (big)
4) Contender
----------------------------------------------
So to break it down, there's 3 parts to each transfer request
1) The Title: (Player Name) Transfer Request
2) The Request: State explicitly what you want (Transfer to another NHL/WHL/AHL/OHL/QMJHL team, Transfew from league A to league B)
3) How you want the decision to be made. Basically, there's 4 things that I will look at in making a trade for you, and to help me make my decision, you must list them from 1 to 4 in the order of importance to you.
- Role: How big of a role your player plays on the team: this means I will trade you to a team with less organizational depth and star power at your position
- Complimentary player: If you want to play with a star player of a certain position. For example, being a scoring winger, I want to play along an all-star center like Joe Thornton, so I listed in brackets (center). If you're a center you might want some good wingers to pass to, or if you're a dman you might want a good defense partner (you'll have to specify Right or Left defense in this case) or a good goalie
- Market Size: If you want to play for a big or small market team (high or low payroll). If you don't put big or small I'll naturally assume big
- Contender: Self explanatory
Last but not least, all requests must be made by 4pm Pacific time so I'll have enough time to trade your guy during the season I'm simming
---------------------------------------
Also, there are a fixed number of trade requests you can make:
- 1 before the age of 27 (including Major Junior)
- 1 between 27-33 (in your prime)
- 3 between 33 and retirement
While it's good to do what's good for your guy, it's also good to be loyal to a franchise, especially one that may have draftd you with a high pick. Hence the first two rules. Towards the end of the game tho, people might just want to win a cup, thus a little more trade flexibility.
